Marketing & Communications Assistant (Fixed Term)
This role is part of the Marketing and Communications team at the King's Theatre and Theatre Royal. The role helps to achieve marketing and communication objectives for our producer partners, venue colleagues and the wider ATG Entertainment group.
Specifically, they will be responsible for capturing and creating informative, entertaining content to support shows and activities across both venues, proactively collaborating with other departments and colleagues to do so. They will also deliver marketing and communications campaigns across our programme that drive ticket sales, increase the profile of The King’s and Theatre Royal and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships. In addition, they will provide ongoing support in the delivery of everyday administrative tasks, showing attention to detail, proactivity, and diligence.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of an international live entertainment group and gain an excellent foundation in arts marketing and communications.
This is a fixed term contract to cover an internal secondment until July 2027, at 40 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and implement marketing campaigns including booking activity with media suppliers, reporting on results and communicating with producers and agencies to deliver timely and effective campaigns that drive occupancy
- Contribute to the planning, delivery and reporting of creative communication ideas, partnerships, content creation and PR stunts that are innovative, distinctive and fun
- Support the Communications Manager in key areas: liaising with media contacts & PR agencies, press enquiries, press night invites and administration of guest tickets, as well as organising and attending interviews, press nights, events and stunts with cast and company members
- Play an active role in supporting the marketing and communications objectives of other departments including Creative Learning, Customer Experience (FOH) and Sales & Development
- Collaborate with department colleagues and external partners to produce effective CRM email marketing campaigns and paid digital and social media campaigns
- Support the department in ensuring that publicity materials (print, posters, pop-ups & other in-venue displays) are ordered with the correct information and in suitable quantities as well as assisting with the intake and storage of new print materials.
- Manage the upkeep and administration of venue listings posters and internal TV screens
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Marketing and Communications including admin tasks that underpin department functions.

- Passion and aptitude for both Marketing & Communications
- Good interpersonal and team working skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks at once
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Strong social media understanding & experience in content creation
- An aptitude for technical tools, software and platforms as well as a curiosity to develop these skills
- Enthusiasm for theatre and the arts, the King’s and Theatre Royal and the work of ATG Entertainment
- Careful attention to detail
